Roachdale -- Ora Edgar Payne, 72, a farmer in Montgomery County most of his life, died suddenly Friday morning at his home near Ladoga. Born Feb 27, 1879, in PUtnam County, Mr. Payne was the son of John and Margaret Gillen Payne. He married Bertha Glover Feb 6, 1901. He was a member of the Haw Creek Church of Christ. Surviving are the widow; a daughtter, Mrs. Donna Keller of Ladoga; three sons, Kenneth G. Payne of Miami, FL; and Maurice L and Norval E Payne, both of Indianapolis, six grandchildren and two half sisters, Mrs. Ethel Wright of Crawfordsville and Mrs Junia Ailes of Ladoga. The body was taken to the Chastain Funeral Home in Roachdale. Arrangements for the services are incomplete. - kbz
